Person-Centered to Help You Balance Emotion and Logic

As a person centered and solution oriented therapist, I know how important it is to be empowered to approach your goals, not just handed an answer. Through a collaborative approach, I work with clients to validate their journey and explore what works. With an integrative strategy, I encourage clients to explore their strengths and develop usable skills that fit their life.

They/Them

Hello! My name is Mandy and I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Oklahoma and a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in Florida. It is an honor to be able to be there for my clients as they embark on their own unique journey of healing. I come into it with the understanding that it will not always be easy and at times can be scary. With this, I work with my clients in a collaborative process to find the right tools for them as not every tool will be the best fit. I enjoy getting creative with it and use a person centered approach to guide us. I am certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and I utilize an integrative approach consisting of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and when appropriate, Solution Focused. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, gender dysphoria and with those undergoing stressful life changes.

I was drawn to mental health counseling through my beliefs that everyone should have a safe space to be their authentic selves. Growing up I would often try to find ways to help others and found joy in being able to do so. As a teenager I began volunteering with local groups to help make positive impacts within the community. While I was in college, that expanded to working with middle school students living with disabilities. As I continued to work with different communities and learned about how to be a better ally, I began my journey into social activism. I believe that community has a huge impact on our daily lives and saw that nurturing it could also improve our mental health as well.

It is very important to me to have my career reflect my beliefs. I have worked with at-risk youth in a partial hospitalization setting and with adolescents in the group home setting. After that I was with an agency working closely with members of the LGBTQ+ community, those struggling with Substance Abuse Disorders and those living with HIV and AIDS. I want to help empower individuals and help them navigate systems that may not fully appreciate their authenticity.

It is important that my clients have a safe place where they can express themselves in the way that is most authentic to them.  I have worked extensively to accomplish this goal no matter the setting and would be excited to provide that to you as well. If you think I may be a good fit for your mental health needs, please reach out to set up a consultation.
